CELTA & DELTA

Teacher training qualifications with IH London

Get qualified with the organisation that created the very first qualification for English language teachers back in 1962. Run by Cambridge English today, the CELTA is still the industry standard for teachers. Raising teaching standards for over 60 years, IH London trains people to become teachers with the CELTA and develops teachers to become advanced practitioners with the Delta.

You know you are learning from the best, because International House London is in the top 1% of schools in the UK (based on British Council inspections).

Our teaching experts speak at IATEFL and we host our own annual teaching conference.

If a participant yearns to become a teacher, CELTA is the right choice. On the other hand, if becoming an ADVANCED TEACHER is the target, DELTA is the answer.

CELTA

The Cambridge English CELTA is the go-to course for anyone seeking a qualification in teaching English as a foreign language (TEFL). It  is recognised world-wide and is accredited at level 5 on the Qualifications and Credit Framework (QCF).

The full-time CELTA is an intensive and rewarding course. Participants will teach real students from an early stage and receive feedback from your tutor and peers.

One does not  need teaching experience to apply for the CELTA, but it is essential to complete a language awareness task and interview as part of your application.

  • The CELTA qualification is recognised by the British Council and will enable you to teach in English language schools across the globe.
  • The CELTA (Certificate of English Language Teaching to Adults) is accredited by the University of Cambridge exam board, which makes it prestigious and schools looking to employ you know exactly what you have been taught.
  • The CELTA is the teaching qualification asked for by 9 out of 10 English language teacher employers in the UK and 7 out of 10 worldwide*.
  • It is an intensive course, with our graduates qualified and confident to teach anywhere in the world. It requires the highest English language level (native-level) to begin the course.
