Working on concrete basis has always been SS´s target. Once we yearn to foster one´s growth as professionals, mastering the terms used on certain segments is mandatory. Therefore, implementing ESP along our sessions has been one of our greatest concerns.

English for Specific Purposes (ESP) programmes focus on developing English communication skills in a specific area, such as finance, marketing, management, human resources, engineering and strategic thinking. Emphasis is given to the language, as well as communication requirements in a particular professional field. This field specific language communication training enables participants to master relevant communication and professional competences and, thereby, meet the needs of industry locally and internationally.

Knowledge and technical know-how are utterly essential, but they must be presented with an excellent standard of communication skills. After all, success is not only based on what you know but also on how you can communicate it. Indeed, communication skills are considered one of the best career enhancers. In fact, evidence suggests that employers in all occupational fields place greater value on employees’ communication skills, than they do on their technical skills, and consequently rate it as a top priority for both securing and retaining employment.

The ESP allows students to:

access the specific vocabularies of the company, industry and functional area, besides understanding how to employ such vocabulary in specific business situations;
Use appropriate style and tone aiming professional interaction;
Enhance productivity, job performance and self-confidence.

Business English 30 course is designed for experienced business people who need to use English every day. It consists of 30 lessons a week and will prepare clients for the international market place by providing them with a knowledge of English that can be used in a range of business contexts.

This programme is ideal for highly motivated professional and business clients who want an intensive course to make fast progress and improve their English communication skills and vocabulary. It focuses on developing English language confidence and giving clients a skill-set for high-level international communication and relationship-building. Medical English Preparation (OET)

This intensive course focuses on the skills, language and techniques you need for the OET exam. Students will study a wide range of medical language, with a specific focus on communicating effectively with patients and their families. Individuals will work on exam strategies specifically tailored to the needs and the profession. The morning sessions will concentrate on listening and reading, while the afternoon sessions will develop skills for the speaking and writing exams. The course exam techniques and strategies, including full exam practice.

IH London is an accredited exam centre for OET, so you can follow the course and take the OET exam in the same place.
