Mayfair is an independent English Language school in central London with 30 years experience of specialist language teaching. They are proud of their services to students and strive to deliver high quality language tuition in a caring and professional environment. They know how important it is for students to feel part of the school and they do their best to make everyone feel welcome and to go home with positive memories of their time there.

The School

Mayfair School is situated in a five-story building between Oxford Circus and Tottenham Court Road tube stations. The building is on Oxford Street within minutes of the West End, Soho, Piccadilly, Regent Street and a short walk away from Covent Garden.

Their teachers

Mayfair teachers are selected for their qualifications and experience.  All are native English-speakers with a TEFL qualification. Their teachers attend regular teacher development sessions to ensure that they are familiar with current practice in language teaching.

Teaching Methodology

Communicative language training with native-speaker teachers forms the basis of all of our courses.  Students will develop their listening, speaking, reading and writing skills as well as their understanding of grammar. Interactive learning with technology in every classroom helps learners to use increasingly complex language with confidence.  Language learning has never been more engaging.

Assessment and progress tracking

Every student has an academic record from day one.   Progress is tracked each week through assessment tasks in all four skills (listening, speaking, reading and writing).  Weekly individual tutorials help to guide all students towards achieving their learning goals.

Curriculum days

Off-site learning days form part of each syllabus, approximately once every six weeks, so that students can experience language in a real and meaningful context with their teacher.   The lesson is linked to the syllabus and the teacher will direct and provide pupils with opportunities for interactive and context-based learning.
